AFRICAN CONTINENTAL FREE TRADE AREA (AfCFTA)

ACINTaD is working with relevant stakeholders to sensitize Ghanaians including the private sector entities, youth groups, and women-owned businesses about the AfCFTA: Opportunities and Threats and how they can reposition themselves to benefit from the single market. We do this through regular media engagements, workshops, articles, etc.

We are also offering technical assistance to support African businesses to access the African markets within the framework of promoting intra-African trade.

TRADE CAPACITY BUILDING PROJECTS

With the help of partners, stakeholders and academics, ACINTaD has designed its flagship capacity building courses in International Trade Law and International Trade Policy which is scheduled to commence in 2020. There are also specialized short modular courses in Trade Law and Trade Policy that have been designed to bridge the capacity gap that exists in the public sector, industry, and civil society.

ITC SHETRADES IN THE COMMONWEALTH

In 2019, ACINTaD partnered with the International Trade Centre (ITC) SheTrades in the Commonwealth to organize two major Workshops in Ghana under the theme: Preparing for the Export Market. The workshops were held in Accra in January 2019 and July 2019 targeted at women-owned businesses to build their capacity to export to foreign market and also register them on the SheTrades in the Commonwealth online platform. Overall, about 400 women-owned businesses had their capacity built in market access, branding, trade law and trade agreements, marketing, packaging, etc.
